Validating GP Web Services Integration

Configuring

a. To validate a Web Service install. Run through these steps to confirm that web services are installed correctly:

i. Verify that you can successfully access these four URLs:

  http://<webservername>:48620/Dynamics/GPService

  http://<webservername>:48620/DynamicsGPWebServices

  http://<webservername>:48620/DynamicsSecurityService

 http://<webservername>:48621/

b. If you can access these URLs without error, then launch the Dynamics Security Console under Control Panel > Administrative Tools:
i. On the right-hand side, click on ‘Select Applications’. A small window showing ‘Dynamics GP Web Services’ marked inside should show. Click OK on this window.
ii. On the left-hand side of the Dynamics Security Console, expand ‘Dynamics GP Web Services’
iii. Click on ‘Policy’ and verify that you can see a list of policies in the middle pane without any errors.
iv. Click on ‘Entity ID Assignments’ and verify that no error shows in the middle pane of the Console.

c. Lastly, in Control Panel > Administrative Tools, launch the Dynamics GP Web Services Exceptions Console and verify you can click on both the ‘System’ and ‘Validation’ exceptions link without seeing any errors in the middle pane of the Console.

d. Ensure the Appolis domain user has access to the Web Services:
i. On the server where GP Web Services were installed, go to “Start” type “Dynamics” and click the icon for “Dynamics Security Console”.
ii. When the console opens click “Select Applications” from the list of actions on the right-hand side of the window. When displayed the “Select Applications” window click “OK”.

iii. In the Dynamics Security Console: right click the text “Microsoft Dynamics Service” on the left side of the console, there should be an option for “Define Security Administrators”.

iv. Add the Appolis domain user to the list of Security Administrators and then click “OK”:

v. Next, on the left-hand side of the drop down “Microsoft Dynamics Security” > “Microsoft Dynamics GP Web Services” and then click on “Role Assignments”. vi. Next, click “Add” on the right-hand side of the console.
e. Add the Appolis domain user as a “Superuser” in each company that WithoutWire will integrate with:

i. Repeat above and add the Appolis domain user as a “Policy Admin” as well.
